In general, all statins are relatively safe. However your doctor does
need to monitor your liver function every 2-3 months. If you ever develop muscle
pain or cramps, stop taking the drug and see our doctor. All statins are known to
cause muscle breakdown, which can be severe. Crestor is a safe medication but expensive. Go for the generic lipitor-it works just as well.
