Cymbalta for low back pain

I have had back pain for 12-months and recently underwent surgery. After surgery, the pain has continued and my surgeon has prescribed me Cymbalta. Does this medication work?

Cymbalta is a antidepressant which is now widely prescribed by doctors for low back pain. In fact the manufacturers of this medication are pushing many doctors and surgeons to prescribe this agent for back pain. Does it work? Hell no, it is just another scam. Only a few people with psychosomatic pain benefit from this medication. If you had back surgery and have pain, this medication will never work for you. When surgeons screw up, there is usually nerve and tissue damage, which is generally unresponsive to most medications.

Finally cymbalta is also expensive and there is no guarantee it will work. In general, when doctors do not know what is causing your back pain or the surgeon has messed up your back, the next step is a prescription of cymbalta. Best advice, seek advice from another reputable doctor and NEVER EVER UNDERGO back surgery- you will live to regret it.
