Inguinal hernia surgery and swelling

I just had right inguinal hernia surgery and now 2 days later, my scrotum is swollen, blue and size of a grapefruit. My GP says not to worry. What should I do?

First you need to see your surgeon as soon as possible. Most likely the surgeon has screwed up as usual. If the scrotum is swollen, you may have what is called a hydrocele or hematocele. I would note down everything, take pictures and get ready to see a lawyer also.  The surgeon most likely messed up- get it corrected by a visit to the lawyer.

While I am not too fond of lawyers, they do ensure that Americans medicine has quality control. In most other countries, even Canada, there are atrocious surgeons who get away with murder-because patients are unable to sue.
