Can any type of diet help my bipolar?
Unfortunately, there is no diet that can help bipolar. There are a lot of scammers (which includes many healthcare professionals) selling bogus diets –so stop wasting your money. The only
time dietary changes are required is if you are on monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
One study did show that eating omega 3 fatty acids can help bipolar depression
but not bipolar mania.
Rather than buy fish oils pills, I would recommend eating
fresh fish- like salmon which is more tastier and cheaper than the cardboard pills. Also you are
unlikely to find contaminants in natural fish. Many health supplements are manufactured in the Orient-and they are known to contain fakes and counterfeits- so i never recommend these products to my patients.
