Medications for acute mania

What medications have been shown to be effective for acute mania?

Many medications have been investigated for treatment of acute mania. However, the three medications which have been proven to work consistently include haloperidol, risperidone and olanzapine. These three medications have been shown to be vastly superior to all other mood stabilizing drugs.

Unfortunately, in the last decade, it has come to light that many studies on psychiatric medications were sponsored by manufacturers who paid doctors enormous sums of money to conduct the tests- so you can imagine what happened-the f......s fudged the data and now we have no clue as to what works or does not. All the negative effects of the drugs were hidden and bogus postive results were highlighted.

I had great respect for psychiatrists during medical school, but now i have discovered that they are just as unethical and unscrupulous as surgeons.
